The doors of Magliano Alfieri Castle open to host the exhibition Mountain Landscapes by Joy Moore, an English landscape painter who, for many years now, has made northern Italy her new home. Heavily influenced by the works of J.M.W. Turner, the artist offers a series of highly evocative mountain paintings, the offspring of her explorations between the Dolomites and the Mont Blanc massif.
«My works are meant to express my appreciation for the power and beauty of the landscape» says Moore «I am especially drawn to the mountain landscape: it is a continuous theater of evolution and erosion. Mountains are created by the incredible power of the movement of the continental plate (…) they are manifestations of the wildest nature.». She continues: «This is what attracts me about them, and it is this feeling that I intend to express in these paintings, rather than creating a purely photographic image.».
“Great things are done when men and mountains meet”.
